Sculpture is flying start for revamp
A wooden puffin sculpture, from Amble’s first Puffin Festival earlier this year, has been installed at the High Street Garden. It is the start of a revamp of the garden area, which will include renewing the seating and taking down the wall along the footpath.
PRIORITIES DRAWN UP FOR PLAN
The town council has put forward its three priorities for Northumberland County Council’s Local Transport Plan 2014-15. These are an on-going review of parking restrictions and regulations in the town, enhancing the crossing from the chemist on Percy Street and dropped kerbs in Amble.

COUNCIL JOINS WORLD OF SOCIAL MEDIA
The council will trial a Facebook page/Twitter account for four months. Public comments will not be replied to. Anyone wanting dialogue must go through the official channels.
STAMP OF APPROVAL FOR POST OFFICE
Councillors have welcomed the modernisation of Amble Post Office, which has led to improved services and extended opening hours. Mayor Coun Craig Weir said the town was ‘very fortunate’ to have the new-style branch.
IMPROVEMENTS AT ALLOTMENTS
Improvements have been made to the walkway through the Percy Drive allotments.
