The Rotary Club of Amble and Warkworth presented a Paul Harris Fellowship Award to Serena Coulter of Warkworth at the club’s meeting on June 23.

This is only the second time that the club has given this award to a non-Rotarian, and in his speech, Rotary club president Chris Ward listed Serena’s many voluntary tasks which she has undertaken for the benefit of the community.

These include a spell on the parish council, trustee of the Memorial Hall, chairman of the Christmas lights committee, president of the Women’s Institute and a member of the Warkworth in Bloom committee, which has seen the village pick up the Best Large Village award every year for the past 13 years.

The Paul Harris Fellowship is the highest award that Rotary can bestow and it is named after the founder of Rotary.
