Gazette readers have caught the drama of this afternoon’s blaze on their cameras and phones.

We have already been sent several stunning images of the plumes of smoke and flames rising from the former St John’s School building in Alnwick, like the one above from Jim Thompson and below from Steve Miller, even before the fire brigade has fully extinguished the blaze.

As we sat here in the Gazette office late this afternoon, we could still hear the wail of sirens as emergency vehicles continued to race backwards and forwards.

Yet images were pouring onto internet sites from eyewitnesses.

If you have any pictures of the fire you would like to share with us, send them to northumberland.gazette@northeast-press.co.uk

We will publish the best in Thursday’s paper.
