International appeal

Alnwick Rotary supplied well-deserved drinks for the students of Dukes Middle and Swansfield Park Primary Schools at their fun run day.

The children were raising money for The Centre for Handicapped in Kandy, Sri Lanka, which is Rotary district governor, Alnwick Rotarian, Terry Long’s project for his year in office, which drew to a close this month.

The clubs in the Rotary North East district have raised more than £100,000 over the past Rotary year for this worthwhile international project, which supplies artificial limbs and ongoing support to those who cannot afford the normally private medical fees.
