Alnwick man dies in motorbike crash

An Alnwick man has died following a crash in Northumberland yesterday.

On Sunday afternoon, the crash took place between a motorbike and a Volvo car on the A68 at Carter Bar, Otterburn.

The rider of the motorbike was taken to the RVI where he subsequently died.

He has now be identified as Ronnie Dodds, 64, of Alnwick Moor.

The driver of the car was not injured in the collision.

The A68 was closed for two hours to allow for investigation and vehicle removal.

Any witnesses or anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Road Safety Unit via 101 ext 69191.
