Plans have been confirmed for two tourism exhibitions taking place in Northumberland later this year.
The organisers of the 2013 North Tourism Fairs have revealed the initial details of the popular events.
The Alnwick Tourism Fair will take place on Tuesday, March 12, at Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre, followed by the Hexham Tourism Fair at Wentworth Leisure Centre on the following day.
“We have brought the dates forward to coincide with English Tourism Week,” said Philip Angier, of event organiser Local Living.
“Over 150 exhibitors attended last year’s events. Through our partnerships with Alnwick Tourism Association and Northumberland Tourism we hope to attract even more hospitality providers to this year’s events.”
Bruce Hewison MBE, chairman of Alnwick Tourism Association, said:”Our association represents a mix of more than 140 local accommodation providers and other tourism-related businesses.
“Northumberland has so much to offer visitors to the county.
“The tourism fairs are a great opportunity to showcase the variety of local attractions and events.”
Carlo Biagioni, chairman of Alnwick Chamber of Trade, added: “Hospitality and tourism are a vital part of the economy for north Northumberland.
“We can be rightly proud of our beautiful natural surroundings, the many attractions we boast and the welcome we extend to visitors.
“I am looking forward to another great event.”
Hospitality providers from across the county and the Borders will be welcome to attend the events, which will take place from 10am to 3pm on March 12 in Alnwick and March 13 in Hexham.
Members of the public are also welcome to drop in to the events to find out more about what’s in store for 2013.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
“We are grateful to Willowburn and Wentworth Leisure Centres for again making their venues available,” added Mr Angier.
For the past two years, exhibitor space at Alnwick has been fully booked, so would-be exhibitors are strongly advised to register without delay.
The 2012 Alnwick event attracted more than 130 exhibitors and an overall footfall of more than 500 during the day. Participant feedback was very positive too.
