Agencies work as one for cancer

A new partnership has formed to help those with prostate cancer in Northumberland.

Age UK Northumberland, Prostate Cancer UK and Northumbria Healthcare Trust have joined forces to ensure that men in the county over 50 have full access to a wide range of support services should they be diagnosed. Work is also being done to ensure that men don’t hesitate in visiting their GP if they have any signs or symptoms.

Tracy Collins, of Age UK Northumberland, said: “This is a very exciting partnership and shows the depth of commitment to help men and their families living with prostate cancer in Northumberland access valuable support services.”

Richard Dobson, chairman of the board of trustees for Age UK Northumberland, added: “This partnership allows us to deliver much-needed on the ground support within the communities in Northumberland.”
