Advice at hand for the golden years

An advice booklet for the over 50s in Northumberland has been re-published.

The Golden Guide offers advice on a range of subjects, such as money, health, care, transport and leisure, as well as providing handy hints and local contacts.

This year the publication includes extra pages on pensions, benefits, befriending schemes and advocacy, and there is also a section on finding beginner classes for using the internet.

The guide is supported by Northumberland County Council, Northumberland Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Age UK Northumberland and is available from Northumberland Healthcare teams, libraries, Carers Northumberland, Citizens’ Advice Bureaux, Healthwatch and Royal Voluntary Service centres.

It can also be obtained by calling the Age UK Northumberland Advice Line on 0845 0950150, and is online at www.alabasterpublish
