THE programme of events for this year’s Residents’ Festival has been unveiled.

During English Tourism Week, local residents are being encouraged to enjoy their local area and the benefits tourism brings.

To celebrate the fact that Northumberland is a fantastic place to live, and to give something back to the residents of the county, a weekend festival is being laid on for their benefit.

Over the weekend of March 24 and 25, residents will be able to enjoy free or discounted entry to many of the top attractions across the county.

Local attractions, English Heritage and the National Trust have worked closely with Northumberland County Council to make the event bigger and better than ever before.

Residents will need the 2012 Residents’ Festival leaflet containing the vouchers for free and discounted entry.

Each leaflet contains sufficient vouchers to visit up to five attractions during the weekend and are now available libraries, leisure centres, council information offices, tourist information centres and Sure Start Children’s centres.
