Delighted Amble students are celebrating a job well done after receiving their A-Level results today.

There was joy for many of the pupils at James Calvert Spence College, with a number of them obtaining A* and A grades.

Executive headteacher Christine Graham said she was ‘really pleased’ with the results, which represented an upward trend in the overall point score for the fourth year running.

Student James Fender, who got an A* in art, as well as an A in design and a B in ICT said he was ‘overwhelmed’ with his results.
