A DELICIOUS collection of recipes, made with local ingredients, is to be launched at Alnwick Food Festival this weekend.
Game On, compiled by Emma Whittingham, is made up of easy-to-follow game recipes, using produce from the area, by some of the best cooks in Northumberland.
Emma has spent a year-and-a-half putting the book together, and has set up a publishing company, Game On Press, to get it onto the shelves.
The former Alnwick Markets manager, who works at Barter Books, is hoping to inspire people to cook with game.
The book includes a foreword by Jean-Christophe Novelli, who will be appearing at the Alnwick Food Festival on Friday and Saturday.
A message is also included from Mary Manley, owner of Barter Books.
Emma said: “I spent most of my time giving out recipes to people.
“Then they asked me if I had a book. It was something I have always wanted to do.
“Game is so good to cook with but nobody does it. It also has great health benefits.”
In total, 3,000 copies have been printed and Emma is hoping to start her next book, on fish, in November.
