TWO north Northumberland pubs have closed.
The Black Swan in Market Place, Belford, has been boarded up and The Blue Bell on the A697 at Crookham, north of Wooler, has shut.

It is understood that it is to be boarded up until new tenants are found.

Owner Marston's was unavailable for comment.

The Blue Bell closed on Sunday, April 27.

Coun Clive Hallam-Baker, Northumberland County Council member for Wooler, said the community was informed of the closure via a notice at the premises.

"It doesn't give a very good impression for visitors," he said.
