Three-car crash chaos on A1

A DRIVER has been taken to hospital after a three-car pile up on the A1 in Northumberland.
The crash happened at around 12.20pm on the southbound carriageway at the Acklington and Guyzance junction.

A Land Rover Defender, Suzuki Ignis and Ford Focus were involved and the driver of the Suzuki was taken to Wansbeck General Hospital with minor head injuires.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended along with the Great North Air Ambulance.

The road was closed from Deanmoor to Guyzance for around 30 minutes but is now re-open.
