THE Bubble Foundation was presented with a cheque for £6,000 from Alnwick Lions from money raised at Alnwick Food Festival 2007.
Based at Newcastle General Hospital, the Bubble Foundation provides care for babies and children who have Severe Combined Immune Deficiency Syndrome, or SCIDs.

As the charity of the Alnwick Food Festival 2007, the foundation received the money to help continue to save the lives of children with this disorder.

Gill Johnston, fund-raising manager for The Bubble Foundation, said: "We are very grateful for the support of the Alnwick Lions.

"The money will all go to help save the lives of babies and children and for that we are very grateful."

Lion Graham Luke said: "The money that we made from the food festival that went to ward 23 is certainly one of the best donations we have ever made.

"Patients from Birmingham upwards and Ireland are covered by ward 23.

"It is one of the best causes without a doubt and definitely very worthwhile."

The next Alnwick Food Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 20 and 21.
