A SEARCH and rescue team was called out twice to the Alnwick area on Sunday.
Northumbria Search & Rescue Service helped the ambulance service in the Swarland area attend to a man who had fallen in a ravine.
The air ambulance was requested due to the location and with team members the fire service evacuated the casualty before he was flown to hospital for further treatment.
About 10 minutes later, the service was contacted by ambulance control to help with an incident to the east of Alnwick for a woman who had sustained a leg injury.
The location was not accessible by vehicle and members from both rescue teams assisted in evacuating the casualty by specialist mountain rescue stretcher to the awaiting ambulance before being taken to hospital.
