YOUNG people are being invited to help shape the way Northumbria Police communicates with them – and they could be in line for a prize.
They are being asked to help design the youth section of the force's website and the best entry will win an iPod nano.

The competition is part of a consultation programme to enable Northumbria to improve the way it communicates with children and young people. It is being carried out by staff from the consultation unit, part of corporate communications department.

Dan Taylor, who heads the unit, said: "The internet, social networking and texting are very familiar to young people, so we're asking them how we can make the best use of this technology to communicate with them."

To enter the website competition go to www.northumbria.police.uk/youngpeople
