A NORTH Northumberland pilot escaped with minor injuries after a microlight crash in Nottinghamshire on Tuesday.
Police said the man, from Kirknewton, north of Wooler, was flying the plane from Northumberland to Gamston when it crash-landed in a rape field at around 11.30am.

The 60-year-old, who was flying alone, was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital by air ambulance suffering from minor injuries.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokeswoman said yesterday that the man had been released from hospital.

She said it appeared that the two-seater aircraft had run out of fuel.
