Published Date: 14 October 2008
NORTHUMBERLAND National Park Authority is seeking six people to become members of its board.
Members are drawn from a wide range of people who love the countryside and believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy and understand it.

They guide the work of the national park in caring for its landscape, wildlife, cultural heritage and communities.

Four of the six vacancies – two representing local communities and two representing regional interests – arise through the change from district councils to a unitary council.

A further two posts are appointed by the Secretary of State for the Environment to represent the national interest and reflect the importance that the country attaches to its national parks.

For an application pack contact Liz Bingham at Natural England on 01242 533297 or email np2009.appointments@naturalengland.org.uk.

The closing date is Monday, October 20.
