MEMBERS of the congregation at a north Northumberland church are being encouraged to wear their wellies at a service on Sunday.
The Harvest Thanksgiving Service at St Maurice's Church, Eglingham, at 10am will mark the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution's (RABI) Welly Week.
Rev Rob Kelsey will wear his wellies throughout the service and hopes others will join him.
Sally Conner, RABI's regional officer, will be speaking at the service and the loose-plate collection will be donated to the fund.
Mr Kelsey will add £5 to the collection from the Vicar's Discretionary Fund for each pair of wellies worn.
The Junior Church will be giving a presentation and leading the prayers of intercession.
Sally will also speak at the 9am service at Old Bewick.
At both services, the congregation will give thanks for those who grow and produce food and remember those affected by severe weather conditions.
Members are asked to bring gifts of harvest produce to be presented at the altar.
For more information contact Mr Kelsey on 01665 578250.
