BENCHES and picnic tables are to be put up on the play area by the riverside.

At the Rothbury Information Day, Coun Caroline Dawson, chairman of the parish council, spoke to Dick Thompson from Alnwick District Council about sorting out the area.
It was decided to turn it into a picnic area.
Coun Dawson said: "He is aware that it is an eyesore and hopefully something should be done."
Coun Joy Morton said: "If they are going to put picnic tables and chairs, can they please put a bin next to it?"
But concern was raised about who would be responsible for the area, as after a certain length of time responsibility nay shift to the parish council.
