POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fatal crash in Northumberland on Sunday.
A 36-year-old man from Sunderland was killed in the collision at 7am on the A68 near Otterburn, a mile and a half north of Elishaw at its junction with the A696.

Police said the man was driving a Nissan Micra north when, for reasons yet to be established, he crossed into the south-bound carriageway and was in collision with an LDV Maxus van driven by a 46-year-old man from Newcastle.

The van driver sustained injuries to his legs. The road was closed for about four hours.
