Druridge Bay Country Park and Beach has been shortlisted for a chance to become one of the country's top 21 dog walks.
Hill's Pet Nutrition and Enjoy England have shortlisted 52 walks from across the country and visitors to the special website - www.21topdogwalks.co.uk - can vote on the final 21.

Giles Ingram, chief executive of Northumberland Tourism, said: "Druridge Bay Country Park includes three miles of beautiful beach and sand dunes. It's a very natural place and a favourite with dog lovers and so we're happy that it's been shortlisted.

"The park has a lake surrounded by woods and meadows. The variety in the landscape and pleasant coastal environment ensures an enjoyable visit."

Tom Wright, Chief Executive of VisitBritain, said that many more people are going for a domestic break this year. "A domestic break is often the easiest and best way to holiday with your pet. You can enjoy long walks in the beautiful English countryside, beside the coast or in national parks.

"By providing a list of the top dog walking spots, we will encourage people to go and discover the fantastic beaches, parks and woodlands that the UK has to offer."
