THREE people were rescued by coastguards on Saturday after their car became stranded by the tide on Holy Island causeway.
The RNLI reported that the car was stuck in sand and the three were making their way to the refuge box when they were picked up.
Seahouses inshore lifeboat was taken by road to the causeway due to the fog but was stood down on arrival.
The incident occurred after 7am, the safe crossing time was until 6.50am.
