AN ALNWICK man has been banned from pubs by Alnwick Magistrates Court.
John Anthony Herbert Costa pleaded guilty to assaulting a man by punching and kicking him in Alnwick.

Magistrates gave Costa a nine-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months and banned him from all pubs in Alnwick for six months as part of a supervision order.

He was also made to pay £150 compensation to the victim, £70 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Speaking after the sentence, Alnwick inspector Sue Peart, said: "This sentence obviously demonstrates the commitment the local magistrates have to the town."
