REMEMBER the Monty Python song: "I'm a lumberjack"? well, Northumberland Wildlife Trust is offering you the opportunity to become just that.
REMEMBER the Monty Python song: "I'm a lumberjack"? well, Northumberland Wildlife Trust is offering you the opportunity to become just that.
On Saturday, December 12, between 11am and 1pm, the wildlife charity is offering members of the public the opportunity to select and cut their own Douglas fir tree at its East Chevington Reserve for a £10 donation.
The Douglas fir tree is tall, and has a broader shape than a spruce tree. It is the most commonly sold Christmas tree in the United States as its needles do not fall off as easily as other types of evergreens.
Estates Officer Alex Lister will be available to help if you don't want to chop the tree down yourself. You will need your own vehicle to transport your tree home.
Please contact Laura Lowther at Northumberland Wildlife Trust on: 0191 284 6884 to register your interest. The event will only go ahead if there is enough interest.
