PREPARATIONS for this year's Alnwick International Music Festival are hitting the right note after nine groups have confirmed they will be attending the prestigious event.
The annual music extravaganza has been a hit with locals and tourists alike for more than 30-years and the latest showcase promises to contain a cocktail of colour, sound and dancing from groups around the globe.
A cultural blend of entertainment from countries such as Columbia, Sardinia and India will be transcending on the market place between Saturday, August 2 and Saturday, August 9, for what is the festival's 33rd year.
John Moodie, chairman of the festival, said: "At this present moment everything is going well and nine groups have confirmed.
"There are no problems at the present moment, just touch wood that there are no unforeseen happenings."
The groups who have confirmed include Columbia Viva from Columbia, Switanak from Belarus and Striichmusig Alpegruess from Switzerland.
Poland's Ariadna, Russia's Laces-Bashkiria and Isle of Man's Phynnodderre have also agreed and should be joined by Taiwan's Leading Dance Group and Shilipagya from India.
Local groups will also take part in the event.
