This photograph was given to us by reader Ernie Gordon, who is searching for names and answers as to what it is of.
It was supposedly taken at wither Glanton or Whittingham Village Hall in 1938.
Those in the picture were all musicians with either the Northumbrian small pipes and/or the fiddle.
The Highland piper and dancer (centre) in dress Gordon Tartan were, more than likely, attached to the Morpeth Highland Pipe Band.
This was undoubtedly a concert of traditional music and dance.
Ernie ha so far identified the first three gentlemen standing from left to right as Foster Charlton, Jack Armstrong and Bob Clark.
Front left seated is ernie’s old pal and mentor of many years the late, Will Atkinson, with his melodeon.
Ernie said: “This was long before he took up the mouth organ.
“I believe there could well be other notable musicians of that era in this picture.
“It would be marvelloud if more names could be put to some of the other faces in this photograph.” If you recognise any of the faces or if you know anything more about the picture, contact Helen Millichamp on 07803 505723 or email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Ernie Gordon on 01665 604168 with any information.
