This photo is another from the collection as Those Were The Days takes a look back through its archive of photographs from the much-loved, and perhaps much-missed, Alnwick Fair.

It features dressed-up pupils of St John’s RC First School in Alnwick, although the date is unknown.

Meanwhile, Jim Thompson contacted us to name the men featured in the inset photo, which we published last week and the week before.

“The militia men from left to right are Bill Barclay, Lewis Proudlock, ‘Dinger’ Bell and Peter Lewis, all stalwarts of the fair in its heyday,” he said.
