No Saturday trains in Northumberland for a month

There will be no trains calling at Northumberland stations on Saturdays for the next month.

Instead, bus replacement services will be operating to and from stations including Berwick, Alnmouth and Morpeth.

Engineering work is taking place at various locations between Newcastle and Edinburgh, starting tomorrow (November 14).

CrossCountry services will operate between Penzance/Plymouth and Newcastle and between Southampton/Reading and York. Replacement buses will operate between Newcastle and Edinburgh, calling at intermediate stations.

Northern Rail services between Carlisle and Chathill will be replaced by buses between Newcastle and Chathill.

ScotRail services between Edinburgh and North Berwick will not run and are replaced by buses.

Virgin Trains East Coast will operate an hourly diverted train service between Newcastle and Edinburgh via Carlisle with extended journey times. Other services to/from London Kings Cross will start/terminate at Newcastle. Replacement buses will operate between Newcastle and Edinburgh, calling at intermediate stations.
