Wonder wool event comes to the seaside
A highly-acclaimed exhibition is visiting a north Northumberland seaside village later this month.
The Sheep Tales and Spinning Yarns display provides a visual and oral record of the history of sheep and shepherding in the area.
It draws together memories, photos, stories, music, traditional craft skills and local archives to create a rich visual and oral record for present and future generations.
As well as the display, there will be demonstrations by weavers, spinners, knitters, felters, dyers, rug makers and textile artists.
There are many very talented people across the county who are not only keeping alive traditional wool crafts but are also using wool in original and innovative ways.
There will be lots of woolly items for sale and refreshments too.
The event will also be a great opportunity to see and buy the unusually creative work of textile artist Jane Jackson, who has recently won the competition for a poster for the Alnmouth Arts Festival.
The Wool Fair and exhibition will be held at the Hindmarsh Hall in Alnmouth on Saturday, November 24.
It will run from 10am to 4pm.
