Indulge yourself in music festival feast

There are still tickets left for concerts at the second Northumberland Music Festival, but you’ll have to get your skates on as time is running out.

The 10-day event is a showcase of opera, classical and traditional music presented in concert performances.

The shows are staged at three of the county’s finest houses – Eshott Hall, Doxford Hall and Guyzance Hall.

Brainchild of Robert Parker, who owns all three venues, the event is in aid of HospiceCare North Northumberland, Macmillan Cancer Support and Action Medical Research.

Opera North, one of the UK’s leading opera houses, starts the festival tomorrow night at Eshott Hall, with highlights from a range of operas.

Over the course of the event, the likes of the Reg Vardy Brass Band and critically-acclaimed pianist Murray McLachlan, will perform.

The festival closes on November 18 with a Gilbert and Sullivan Concert at Doxford Hall.

All ticket prices (see right) include the concert and dinner or lunch. For more details and to book tickets, visit www.nmfestival.com
