I WOULD like to say a big thank-you to the lads from Alnwick Round Table and everyone else involved, for a stunning fireworks display on Saturday night.
My family and I loved it. With all the obvious hard work setting it up, managing it so well and clearing up afterwards, plus the cost of the fireworks themselves. I thought the gesture to make it free entry was a bold and generous one.
Attracting a huge crowd, presumably in the hope that voluntary donations would significantly help local charities, it is heart-warming to see so many young men working selflessly for the benefit of the wider community in which they live.I hope it deservedly paid off. Well done to all concerned.
