THOSE dreaded rubber bands strike again. We have a regular evening visitor to our garden – a hedgehog – our dog noticed it originally. He/she visits us regularly and my husband and I often watch it pottering across the patio.
We did this last night and on closer examination, noticed a red rubber band firmly wrapped round it behind the head. With the aid of long-nosed pliers and a pair of scissors, we managed to cut the band and free Mr/Mrs Tiggywinkle.

Please ask the postmen/women not to drop these bands, but put them in their pockets and dispose of them safely, to prevent this happening to animals.
Bill and Eleanor Cassidy,
Mariner's View,
Amble
