Charities are too persistent

JUST like the mailing and telephone preference services, I just wish there was some way in which one could stop various charities appealing for donations.
I have, in the past, donated to quite a number of charities, but during the past few months, I have written to some of them who have appealed for donations, and told them I just cannot afford to give any more just now.

Just like everyone else at the moment, I am financially suffering with this dreadful credit crunch (which has been brought about by greedy Gordy and his very rich mates, just grabbing money from us now very poor, long-suffering ordinary Brits).

So I just wish that there was some way that one could 'opt out' of donating to charities (and maybe opt in again if one should ever have enough money to do so again).

There is one charity which appealed for a donation a couple of weeks ago and I have received exactly the same appeal in the post today.

What a waste of good trees, and also, do these people not keep account of who they have written to?
