AS you may have already read in the pages of the Northumberland Gazette, plans are afoot to build a walled flowerbed in Swarland as part of the Village Square's restoration.
The flowerbed will be built with bricks that are inscribed with the names of past and present villagers.
We are therefore inviting former villagers or family members who lived in Swarland or maybe moved from Jarrow and Tyneside when the village settlement was built in the 1930s to take part in this project run by Swarland Village Action.
So if you still live locally or further afield and are interested in purchasing a brick at a cost of £15 inscribed with you or your loved one's name, contact Sue on 01670787655 Marion 01670787428 Avril 01670783635. The closing date is September 14.
A Plumpton,
Swarland Village Action
