THE Morpeth and District Committee of Macmillan Cancer Support received more than £2,300 from two recent golf events.
The Alnmouth (Foxton) Golf Club captain Jim Browell gave all the proceeds from his Captain's Day to the charity and the 170 competitors and friends at the evening party gave generously to a superb raffle.

The Alnwick Rotary Club also made Macmillan one of the beneficiaries from their annual golf day at Seahouses. They raised over £4,000 and gave Macmillan £1,000. The Morpeth group hope to exceed the £40,000 raised last year and have a flag day in Morpeth on Wednesday, July.
