THE Twilight leaderboard took a dramatic turn this week with Ben Young returning to form to scoop the maximum five points to get within three points of the overall leader Gary Irving.
With three rounds left it will be a battle of nerves between experience and youth. Second was Brian Young, followed by Alan Scott and Stuart McLevy with Ian Anderson picking up fifth place.
The first of the matchplay finals was played this weekend with Mark and Rachael Williamson picking up the Mixed Foursomes beating Nigel Hogg and Louise Tate 3 and 2, in a hard fought final.
In the September Medal, the old heads showed the way with Geoff Hulley winning with a net 71 (77-6-71), just pipping Peter Turnbull (85-12-73) and Chef Joe Wood (93-20-73).
This weekend sees the ever competitive "Ryder Cup" with Team Captain's Mike Mahoney and Paul Dixon, keeping their teams and secret weapons close to their chests.

THE Old Tom Morris Links hosted a stableford competition last weekend and the category one golfers stayed at home, perhaps knowing what was to come. With the Castle Cup at stake Billy Lilburn pulled out the stops and brought his 'A' game on a glorious spring day.
A sparkling 45 points meant hello trophy, bye bye handicap and a new name for the honours boards. Alan Stewart was overcome with emulsion to finish second and put a gloss on his score of 43 points with his fine putting. That meant it was over and Dunn for Geoff alongside Mick Mossman in third place with 38 points, a credible score but just not enough at present.

SATURDAY saw the gents outing to Hawick, and on a glorious day Alistair Sharp took first place with a net 67 ahead of Barry Guthrie on 68 and Paul Stenhouse on 70. Trevor Crossman won the nearest pin.
Sunday saw many past captains return for a nine hole Texas Scramble.
The winners were Eileen Jeffrey, Kathleen Brydon, Gordon Wilson and Dave Hall.
The club is holding a coffee morning this Saturday in the Glendale Hall at 10am any items for a tombola, cake and bottle stall or raffle will be gratefully accepted. Please taken them to either Alistair to Stuart.
