WarkworthTHE final competition on the Old Links summer layout was the prestigious Daily Mail Foursomes and a strong northerly put scoring at a premium.
With the longer holes going out into the gale, accuracy and length were vital so it was a shock when Ken Park and Mick Dawson led the field.
A superb 68.5 net had Murdoch McCracken and S Ginger snapping at their heels with a 69 net and in third was Dan Hodgson and Nick Smeatom on 71.5 net.
The Old Links reverts to its winter layout with its card of 66 and new tees from this weekend. To promote this there is a five-month deal on offer at £100 for full playing rights until March 2008 on this challenging card.
