A LAST-GASP wonder-strike from Elephant's John Robinson dumped Amble FC Reserves out of the George Cave Cup.
A very young Amble outfit produced a great performance and started the better of the two sides.
But they fell behind against the run of
play to a close-range effort from Anthony Wright after 14 minutes.
The Seasiders maintained better possession during the first half with Shaun Jobson and Declan Armstrong orchestrating midfield and Ethan Miller and Nick Moore supporting down the flanks.
Chris Connor slotted into goal with 16-year-old Connor Miller making his full debut in defence alongside Lee Megson, Michael Straker and Alex Potts.
The home side continued to produce quality football and deservedly equalised with a tremendous 25yard strike from Ethan Miller.
The experienced Karl Scott led the line with Craig Keilty in support and the Amble's pressure produced a series of corners but they were unable to capitalise on their possession.
The second-half saw the visitors produce a stronger opening performance and Connor was at his best to twice deny Ben Davidson.
Connor produced two further outstanding saves to keep the scores level.
The visitors took the lead for the second time when Davidson scored against his Alliance League teammates with a great 20yard strike after 65 minutes. The Seasiders came back and battled their way into contention.
Seventeen-year-old Ethan Miller produced a contender for goal-of-the-season with a 40yard strike into the top corner to level the scores after 74 minutes.
The home side looked the more likely to score in the closing stages and Scott hit the post with a great effort with five minutes remaining.
But the visitors scored the winner in the final seconds when John Robinson hit a 35 yard wonder-strike – a goal worthy of winning this tremendous cup tie.
