SHILBOTTLE recorded a comfortable victory over the division's bottom team at HMP Acklington.
The Colliers were quickly into their stride and created several good chances before finally taking the lead after 15 minutes when Andy Metcalf forced the
ball home from close range following a free-kick into the box. Jamie Black should have doubled the advantage shortly after but he blasted a good chance wide of the target.
The home side had shown little but shocked the Colliers just before the break when they were awarded a penalty which was struck home to leave the sides level at the interval.
Shilbottle continued on the front foot following the restart and almost regained the lead when Andy Metcalf struck the bar with a snap shot.
They did regain the lead after 70 minutes with a smart finish from substitute Kyle Lowes.
It was one-way traffic at this stage and after Garry McDonnell had what looked a good goal disallowed for offside, the Colliers increased their advantage when a good run by Jamie Black saw him tripped in the box and Kevin Elliott smashed home the resultant penalty-kick.
A couple of good saves from Colliers keeper Steve Miller retained their advantage and the scoring was completed 10 minutes from time when Lowes was again on hand to force the ball home from close range after the cross-bar had been struck again.
