THIS summer, as part of the Northumberland-wide Art Tour, six artists are busily preparing their work to display at Alnwick Garden.
Five of them are painters, working in a variety of styles.

Lynda Swift paints anything that attracts her creative eye, from landscapes to wildlife, and teddy bears to Morris Men. Mal Rhodes takes inspiration from the colours, shapes and textures f
ound in nature.

Sarah Farooqi pokes affectionate fun at well-known northern landmarks, using watercolours and acrylics. Emma George makes abstract paintings, collages and textile pieces, and original jewelled lanterns. Renira Barnes recreates the moods and patterns of flowers and hills in her watercolours and Harry Hall produces soul-stirring panoramic photographs of far-flung places.

Their art work will be on display and on sale at Alnwick Garden from Saturday, June 13 to Tuesday, June 23 and then from Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, July 19. All six artists will be available on selected Saturdays and Sundays during this period to discuss what inspires their work and to demonstrate how they create it.

Admission to the exhibition is free and does not require access to the Garden itself.

Full details of the 70 artists in this year's Art Tour are provided in the full colour brochure, which can be downloaded from www.networkartists.org.uk or obtained free from admin@networkartists.org.uk or by ringing 01661 852523.
