NEW PRESIDENT: Seahouses and District Rotary Club had their usual meal and meeting in the Olde Ship on Tuesday evening.
There was no speaker this week to allow for club business to be discussed and plans made for the end of the Rotary year.

Retiring president Jill McConnell-Wood will be handing over to incoming president Father Tony Owens at the meeting on June 30.

There will be a celebration dinner for the wider area at Gosforth Park Hotel on July 3.

Plans were discussed for summer fund-raisers including a bbq, a stall at the Seahouses Festival on June 20, a bag packing session at the Co-op and a garden party.

The meeting on June 23, will include the presentation of the Civic Cups to the Middle School pupils of Wooler, Belford and Seahouses for activities of merit in their local communities. The pupils are nominated by their own schools.

Plans are also being discussed to celebrate and increase the support for the maintenance of Rotary Way, so watch this space.
