FOSTER'S NORTHUMBERLAND & TYNESIDE SENIOR CRICKET LEAGUE, DIVISION B2:
Saturday, August 25

HAVING defeated Ponteland II on Saturday, Alnwick II travelled to promotion chasers Percy Main on Bank Holiday Monday.

Percy Main II won the toss and elected to bat and Alnwick, their young bowling attack bolstered by the re
turn of seasoned campaigners, kept the openers on a tight leash, with tight bowling from Richie Neil and Danny Graham.

The deadlock was broken though by Matt Travis who eventually finished his spell on 3-30 from 11 overs.
Percy Main's Errington kept the score ticking over but was later dismissed for 76, bowled by Andy Armin. But tight bowling from the Alnwick bowlers, including Tapp and Woods, helped contain the home side to 178-7 after 45 overs.

But Alnwick, chasing a similar score to the one in their victory against Ponteland, slumped with Percy Main taking four quick wickets.

Kiwi Jamie Tapp, joining Maughan at the crease, helped to move Alnwick's score to some respectability, and going after the Main bowlers he notched 65 before being stumped. Alnwick reached 100 and grabbed a bonus point but bowlers Duncan and Basillie helped dismantle the innings.

Alnwick now finish their season with a trip to Consett.
