ALNMOUTH and Lesbury Cricket Club's Junior section has started the season brightly with more than 100 members aged between seven and 15 attending training on a Friday evening.
In their first U15s league match of the season, Alnmouth and Lesbury (104-7) beat Kelso (62-9) by 42 runs.

The star of Alnmouth's batting was Callum Batey with a fluent 35 which was well-supported by others.

When it came to ball in hand, Ben
Gothorp ripped through the Scottish line-up, with his pace bowling taking four wickets for five runs leaving Alnmouth comfortable victors.

Alnmouth U13s started the season brightly by visiting a strong Tillside team.

Tillside batted first and were restricted by tight bowling to 46 for six in their 16 overs. All momentum in their innings being lost when Edward Brunton pegged them back by taking three wickets for two runs.

When it was Alnmouth's turn to bat, Jonathan Ridley was savage on the home bowlers by smashing an undefeated 27 to all parts of the ground.

This was in contrast to 'Stonewall' Andy Marshall who batted through for five runs and guided the visitors to victory on 47 for three wickets.

Alnmouth run two U11s sides and Alnmouth A started the season with victory in a tight encounter at Berwick.

The home team batting first, scoring 206, with special mention going to Chris Hilton who captured two Berwick wickets on his league debut. In reply, Alnmouth scored a cagey 212 to secure victory.

A young Alnmouth B side put up a creditable performance against Tillside.

Batting first, Tillside set a good total of 267. In reply, Alnmouth reached 212 with their man-of-the-match being Nick Robertson.
