He carried his bat for a fine 106 in the home side's total of 242 for eight against Warkworth.

In reply, the visitors were skittled for 61 in 24 overs with Sam Nesbit and Andrew Aitchison claiming three wickets apiece.

Embleton's Paul Carss was also in good form with the bat, hitting 94 in a total of 225 for nine against Rock.

The home side took on the challenge but fell 35 runs short of their target despite the efforts of Phillip Baston (59) and Tony Dunn (57).

At Warenford, Tillside won the toss and put the home side in, but they were left to rue the decision as Warenford racked up 268 for seven with Ian Thomson (58) and Graham Rogerson (76 not out) leading the run feast.

Tillside, in reply, were 140 all out in the 35th over, Dan Patterson (4 for 27) and Ryan Thompson (3 for 48) the chief wicket-takers.

In the remaining match, Howick comfortably beat Berwick by eight wickets after dismissing the visitors for 98, Robbie Jamieson (4 for 31) and John Wright (5 for 33) the in-form bowlers.

Joe Durie hit an unbeaten 59 in Howick's reply of 100 for two wickets.
