See a video of the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade at The Alnwick Garden.
There was a wonderful fusion of East meets West at the Alnwick Garden, when they held their first cherry festival which coincided with the flowering of the Tai Haku trees in the newly planted cherry orchard. A Japanese princess led a procession through the garden to the orchard where there were celebrations of music and dance followed by the release of colourful lanterns on the lake. Sory and pictures in Thursday's Northumberland gazette.
