Morning session Free entry on the door. 11am: Young Chef of the Year competition
Afternoon session Tickets £4 (£2 children and concs) on the door or in advance by ringing the Playhouse on 01665 510785. 2pm: Comedy Cooking - Holy Smoke! with Jimmy Dodds, Peter Lewis and Nick Lewis.
2.30pm: Presentation of Young Chef of the Year awards
2.45pm: Demonstration of Indian Cooking, by Shab, from Dalchini's restaurant in Alnwick
3.30pm: Celebrity Ready Steady Cook-style competition with GMTV agony aunt Denise Robertson, president of the Bubble Foundation, the chosen charity of the Lions' Alnwick Food Festival, against Mitchell Claydon, a cricketer from Durham County Cricket Club. Chefs Richard Sim and Martin Charlton will add expert spice to the occasion. Sure to be fun and will hopefully raise a lot of money for the Bubble Foundation at the same time!
TOWN HALLFree entry10am - 4pm: Food Festival Bistro selling quality sandwiches, hot rolls and Renaissance Pies, all using local ingredients.
Wine-tasting by Tyne Wines.
POTTERGATE CENTRE, HOWLING LANE10.30am - noon
and 2pm - 3.30pm: Healthy Living Demonstration, with community chef Mark Earnden and storyteller Adam Bushnell. An event for all members of the family.
