COOKERY demonstrations will be tantalising taste buds throughout the Food Festival weekend at Alnwick Playhouse.
Starting off the free morning session at 11am the Young Chef of the Year competition will take place, showcasing the talents of pupils from the Duchess's High School and Coquet High School.

The two students will battle it out to be crowned Alnwick
Food Festival's Young Chef of the Year and win prizes donated by Proudlock House and Home.

The afternoon session will see Peter Lewis and Jimmy Dodds in their comedy cooking sketch and Coronation Street's Martin Platt will demonstrate his Masterchef dish.

Two trainee chefs will also be demonstrating their talents.

Daniel Wayman, chef at the Alnwick Garden Pavillion, and Richard Benson, from the Cook and Barker, will be cooking.

Daniel won the Young Chef of the Year competition at the first Alnwick Food Festival and went on to work at The Garden with Richard Sim.

During the afternoon, the winner of the Young Chef of the Year competition will be presented with their prize and certificates and a video about the food festival's chosen charity, the Toma Fund, will be shown.

The Playhouse programme has been organised by Alnwick Rotary Club.
